You can cover the cost of college.

Heading to college or a postsecondary training program? To be eligible for financial aid from the federal government, your state, and your college, you will have to file the FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – by the April 18 deadline.

UPDATED: The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has moved the filing deadline for the 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to April 18 due to the original April 15 deadline being a state holiday. With state offices being closed on April 15, this change will provide students and families additional days to receive assistance with filing the FAFSA. Marion County students enrolling at IU Indianapolis or Ivy Tech can qualify an Indy Achieve Promise Scholarship to close any remaining gaps in academic costs. However, students must submit their FAFSA to be eligible.

See step-by-step instructions for the FAFSA at Learn More Indiana, and use the button below to start your application on the FAFSA website.
